Hello There !

Need some info on Doha Airport as a transit passenger please.
My wife and I managed to get return flights to Hong Kong for less £300 each return with Qatar Airways which we assume to be a bargain.
The downside is we have a six hour transit at Doha on the outward leg, have we made a big mistake ?
Has anybody been through there recently?
Also what would be the best currency for some drinks / snacks ?
Any info would be much appreciated, we are flying out end of September if that makes any difference.
