That sounds awful, thankfully the hotel and assume the t/o treated you well and the insurance claim was settled promptly. What insurer was it that your sister was insured with? It always good for us to know who are good at paying out claims promptly.

perhaps you could clarify how this ruined the holiday? you said this happened the day before you went home so how did it retrospectively ruin what you had already enjoyed at the start of the holiday???
Thank goodness it didn't happen on the first day of your holiday,at least it only spoilt one day.Hope your sister is okay now and that the insurers were good to you.T.
It sounds like everyone was "on the ball" and although its a horrible thing to have happened, perhaps arguably no one could have forseen this, Im sure the hotel staff would have mentioned if they thought the slab was loose. But then again it shouldnt have been loose in the first place should it?
Of course thats not your problem and its very unfortunate - are your insurance company compensating you for this? You dont say exactly what you "expect" to be compensated so its quite hard to answer your complaint.
Could you perhaps post again letting us know the position of your Insurance Company and what they are paying for?
