diet coke is available in most bars and restaurants in 330 ml cans and you can get 500 ml bottles in a few shops
They were available last time I was there as Im also diabetic. I do ask for a bottle or can in a bar though just to be on the safe side. A few shots of regular sugary coke can send my blood sugar through the roof.
I try and lay of the soft drinks through the day and stick to water. Although i dont seem to worry about the sugar in a cold kings

What about lassi drinks are there any sugar in them?Thers also the lime soda's
Kings black label is a pilsner type of lager which allegedly contains less sugar as it is left to brew longer turning more of the sugar into alcohol.
You can also get Tuborg pilsner in Goa which is a very nice beer but I would not rely on either of them been that low in sugar.
Diet Coke and diet 7 up are about the only sugar free soft drinks readily available but I would have thought a plain lime soda or lassi should be ok

Hi Guys
Ive been diabetic on insulin for 35 years and every time i dring "diet" coke or pepsi in Goa my sugar levels soar! Ive learnt my lesson and now take a bottle of orange squash and dilute with water - boring I know but quenches thirst when needed in the sun! Im sorry just cant trust the "sugar free".
Im by no means a stickler for the correct blood readings but I would rather eat a nice curry to raise the levels rather than a oke! (by the way pepsi is all i drink back home!)
xx

What about tonic water is that sugar free...theres plenty of that about.
I think you'll find they add sugar to the lime soda's (unless you choose the salt one)
What about freshly squeezed fruit juices, only natural sugars in those - would that be okay?
My OH is a diabetic too and to be honest I'd never given this any thought, I'm assuming he has though

you must ask for fresh juice without added sugar as a lot of places put it in to improve the flavour.
Ask for a plain lime soda and you don't get sugar or salt.
Hi I did manage to get some Robinsons special "R" squash (summer fruit I think) from the supermarket think it was called Lawande? was not too expensive either
