Ok, now that i'm booked up with two Siblu parcs for next May, i'm looking to get some info and advice for my trip
Any tips, days out, or general info about either region would really be appreciated
Hi CiderMonster II - as a place to start, Siblu have regional guides for Charente Maritime (
http://www.guide2poitoucharentes.com is also very good, and they have a useful forum of people who know that region really well.

Good tips, thanks mate
Here's some of my favourite things:
local markets - some of my favourites are Pezenas on a Saturday and St Chinian on a Sunday
cycling along the Canal du Midi
exploring the Cathar castles, the Roman history and the many medieval villages in the region
wine tasting - there are hundreds to try!!!
walking in the National Parks
feel free to pick my brains - I could go on all night!
Thanks nellycat
The Aquarium at Port des Minimes - reached by car or boat
The weather ship museum
Walking around the towers and having sea food at the port side
Visit the Ile de Ré - you will need to pay a toll for the bridge but it's worth it
Fort Boyard offshore - ask the Tourist Office
Fouras Plage/Chataillon Plage for swimming
Saintes - historic site and market
Cognac - for the cognac tasting!!
Marais Poitevin - inland - take boat tour, and get someone to light the methane on top of the water!
Niort - Donjon museum
Really inland (but worth it!) the FUTUROSCOPE science park
And further north, the Zoo at Royan
....................... for starters!
Brilliant tips, thanks
