I think it has :rofl (joking!)
Unless it's a prize pedigree cat which you've spent a load of euros on and you'll never let out of the apartment......
Cats in Spain (in general) are treat as vermin, they are there for a purpose, to keep the other vermin numbers down....rats. mice. cockroaches.(cucarachas) beetles.
Ask me if I'd rather have a feral cat or a cucaracha?....that's easy, give me a litter of ferals any day.

Small dogs for people in small apartments is fine, as long as they pick up the :swear
Large dogs in small apartments are for small-minded people.
Seriously, the Spanish are not known as a nation of animal lovers, they have one of the worse animal cruelty records and with the economic downturn and high unemployment levels in Spain, the animal welfare groups are seeing more and more animals abandoned on the streets.

Feral cats in Spain are just part of Spain, they've been there for years and will continue, while ever tourists continue to produce waste that will attract other vermin.
:whoops sorry way off topic.

What is the name of the bar not far from the Sol Aloha Puerto, it's run by, or was by a couple from Nottingham?
A real clean small place which didn't rip you off and was very popular with long-termers. Well worth a visit.

Hi Robby
wow, you've made me put my thinking cap on here........I walked passed all these bars several times a day and I can't remember the names because we didn't go in any except "Champagne Charlies" just opposite the Aloha....it was a great little place and so deceiving outside.

It was just like walking into a British pub.....all plush seats and not a plastic chair in sight, and they had the TV's on mute, (thank gawd) and played a good selection of background music, so, you could actually have a conversation in a comfortable chair without the bluddy football taking over.
A lot of these bars have changed hands in the last 18 months...does Champagne Charlies, Brogans, the Ivy, Office Bar, Baileys, Tom's Tavern or the Rose and Crown ring any bells.?

Hi
The cats all look skinny and roam about, not used to seeing so many. Noticed a lot of dog mess and slide marks around, and as my husband would say if he saw a lot of marks on the pavement, some unfortunately person hasn't been so lucky.
What did annoy me also I noticed dog owners letting their dogs pee up the phone booths and it was like a green pond where people would have to stand to use the phone. Sorry :offtop

That's the one, a real nice friendly couple. It's only a small place but is very, very clean.
Dave was stating he has ran lots of pubs and has a wealth of experience.
Well worth a visit, a good honest pub.

just got back and prices are good all around that area, pint san miguel, 1.50 euro's, wine 1 euro, spirit and mixer, 2.50 euros, john smiths 2.50 euros, alot better than were we were in torromolinos, it was 250 for a pint 2 for a wine and even 4.00 for john smiths, the few english bars that are there are still charging silly prices for food, the worse one is called Lowry's, around the corner from burger king on the seafront, 5.50 euro's for a standard breakfast and 8.80 for a large one, 5.25 euros for a jacket spud with butter,

We live part of the year in Benalmadena and have almost stopped eating out in the last couple of years because of the lack of quality - 11 euros in Bonanza Square for menu del dia - could be egg mayonnaise - a chicken breast piece, frozen chips and salad plus rice pudding served with a cheap bottle of plonk. No thank you.
Browns in Flamingo Square is about the only place we eat.
Dave and Jean at Toms Cabin are a great couple and know how to keep the customers happy - worth the walk to Torremolinos just to listen to his banter.
