Hiya People,
I am off to New York next week & I was wondering what the % is that they expect off a tip for taxis, meals etc is it 10% I dont want to look tight ?!?!
At the moment I havent made my mind up on what i'm going to do for 6 days but I know they'll be plenty to do i'm planning on taking around £600 which is probably about $900 at a guess.
I think that should be enough but i'll have my credit card with me just in case I need more.
Any tips on good places to eat would be welcomed.
I'm staying at The Muse Kimpton Hotel at Times Square which sounds good on the reviews looking forward to it now apart from the mind numbing flights that is !
Thanks
Legs
As for tipping, 15-20% is the norm in the US. In restaurants an easy way is to double the tax as there is tax on all restaurants and shopping which went up to 8.875% on 1 August.

We are visiting New York for 3 nights on our way back from Orlando at the end of the month and wondered, is it worth buying our tickets for attractions before we go? I wasnt going to bother but someone told me the queues are horrific if you dont?? Can anyone help please? Many thanks. Sue
