Weather is unpredictable in December, can be ok. will be cold when the sunsets. The area where you are staying is very quiet. Nearest place with anything to do is Nerja. Málaga city has some xmas markets and lights.

Hi Steve, will you have a car when you visit. If so the zoo at Fuengirola is a good day out. Selwo marina in Benalmadena and the cable car are also good. Selwo safari park furthere down the coast. Arroya del Miel will all be open and the main town in Torremolinos. Not sure about Neja as I`ve never been.
We go to the Costa Blanca at Christmas on a regular basis which we love. Never been to Costa Del Sol at Christmas but have tried to find out what it`s like but didn`t get much info apart from that it is quiet. We`ve been to Benalmadena in Febuary and there was enough open to keep us busy.
I hope you have a great time at Christmas.

                Christine,thanks for that.
Yes I will be hiring a car, have not done that yet so will have to get round to it.(looks more expensive this year)
Safari park sounds like a good idea, also heard of a park called Tivoli World that looks good.
Cheers

Steve if you haven`t been to Malaga give it a try. We went for the day and enjoyed it, we got the open top bus tour. It was great as we kept getting on and off and it was a good way of seeing everywhere.
If you go to Tivioli call in at Paloma park, the kids will love the animals, Arroya del Miel is a lovely place to shop and have a drink or lunch.
One of the things I love most about Spain at Christmas is the decorations, the shops and hotels trim up too.

Málaga city has some xmas markets and lights.
LOL ... 3,723,638 xmas lights last year ....
Seriously though if you do get a chance then Malaga is definately worth a visit on an evening over the xmas period as the lights are spectactular. Do a google search on Mlaga Xmas Lights and have a look ....

Tivoli is a good 2+hours from there and the safari park approx 3. I think Tivoli only opens at weekends out of season.

I go barcelona for xmas well mid december and its has lovely buzz about it, the xmas lights, the decorarions, and ofcourse there xmas markets near the catherdal are beautiful, malaga will be probably be the same, its normally sunny allday in barca, and cool and dry and night... malaga will have a lovely atomosphere, and the spanish shopping for pressies, there funny all dressed up in woolly gear, we were walking round in light clothing... it was not cold in the day at all.
