Hi, lady 50ish travelling alone wondering if anyone could suggest and advise on cheap and cheerful B & B /guest house, must be in a 'safe' area, (i.e not 'out of the way' to walk back to at night - and during the day even!), would probably prefer Candolim I think but don't really mind, would really like balcony and a pool as I know the sea isn't very safe and I do like a swim/cool down in a pool.
Budget is limited and I think separate flight/accommodation is the cheapest, but have also been wondering if I could be brave enough to just 'arrive' and find somewhere when I get there, tho this is a 'scary'thought
By the way I would be going mid November for 10 - 14 days (not sure how long I can get off work yet!!).
Any suggestions greatly appreciated, have been spending hours looking on the net and am getting all muddled
Thank you...............
e mail darolina@rediffmail.com.
very clean and friendly place and excellent value for money, i think we paid 1100 rps for double room per night in march. no pool but only short walk (5 mins) from Candolim beach.
also try The beach House on Holiday st calangute, e mail. thebeachhousegoa@hotmail.com owned by a lovely english couple, also reasonable price
hope you get sorted
Have a great holiday
We've done it a couple of times (and are hoping to do it again in a few weeks!) and the reality isn't half as scary as the thought. We always get a cab from the airport and then change to a local cab in Calangute to do the searching with. What's to be scared of?
Just be aware that the cabbie may want to take you to someplace that he can get a few rupees from. Be firm and try a number of places before you make your mind up. It's good to have a specific area to aim for - there are a lot of rooms behind and around the football pitch.
However you do it - have a great time and if we manage to get ourselves organised, we may see you at one of the meets at the Carvery on Wednesday nights. If you're travelling alone, you really must make it to one of those!
Thank you all, some good ideas and advice there, much appreciated. I shall follow through the suggestions, thanks again...
dont know about guesthouse but we are in the colona de braganza booked with travel republic only £54 for the 2 of us per week b+b
roxey wrote:I can wholeheartedly recommend Angelas Guest House which is Sinquerim end of Candolim 800rps per night for an apartment, sat TV (a must for O/H) kitchen, bedroom, couple of balconies - no pool though. The people who run it are absolutely lovely, nothing is too much trouble. Arthur, the son, is a taxi driver and more than helpful.
Have a great holiday
Do you by chance have any contact details at all please?
Thanks in advance
Heres the e mail address:
Thanks for that
