Can anybody advise if anything is done in Goa (Calangute/Candolim/surrounding areas) for this national holiday? - various websites mention parades and ceremonies etc but nothing specific and it may be that its restricted to the bigger cities.

We have been in Goa for the past 4 years on Republic Day and in Goa is pretty low key.
There is usually a small event in Panjim but nothing much in the resort areas.

Go to the Parade ground - it's on the left as you head out the Miramar.
They usually have a big parade with representatives of the armed forces and youth organisations.
