I think finances and holiday allowances from work can often dictate how long it is between holidays..

We had the holiday in Thailand in March but will not have another major holiday until we go to Egypt for a dive liveaboard at the end of Jan 2010. That is far too long and we are both soooo knackered. We had to cancel our holiday to Gozo in August due to family illness and then a lack of work/money etc. We did manage a couple of weekend breaks in Scotland..but it is not nearly enough.

I wish we could afford more holidays..but the recession has whacked hard into Rob because he was self employed in the construction industry and suddenly the work ground to a halt and he ended up scratching around taking owt he could get for less money just to take the work..so summat has to go..and holidays are a luxury really because paying your bills are more important.

Next year, hopefully..Egypt, Malta/Gozo (May) and maybe one other if we can afford it...
