I have found out that Ryanair are charging the same for flights to all of the canary islands next month . I had my heart set on Lanzarote because this seemed to be the destination with the lowest airfares, but since finding out that Ryanair will beat other airline prices, and offer Tenerife and Gran Canaria miles cheaper than the other airlines, now im stuck.
Im a bit put off Lanzarote because it tends to be quite windy, so its either Tenerife or Gran Canaria.
I have already been to GC, but that was about 15 years ago, and we went to Peurto Rico.
Im going to have a look for hotels, and see which one takes my fancy.
Im thinking of PDA in Tenerife, or somewhere similar in Gran Canaria.
Well here we go again, I expect it will be fairly basic at this price but as you are on a budget it was the cheapest I could find.
Tenerife - SC Jan.22nd for 7 nights ( similar price all week) Laguna Park 11 approx. £155 total for accommodation with "Monarch" hotels. Loads of others but that was the cheapest. The price changes whilst loading so it should come up after a couple of seconds.
You could always rent an apartment off the net, hire a car & see a bit of the island which is amazingly interesting once you get off the beaten track.
To be honest, im not too bothered that the beds arent very comfy, or that there isnt enough hot water after 30 mins of using the shower in the evening. As long as the bed has a mattress, and we get at least 2mins each in the shower then that will be fine for us.
After all, you get what you pay for! Ive stayed in quite a few 1star and 2 star hotels in Goa, and these werent bad, so im presuming Tenerife will be as good, or better accomodation.
Ive heard its on top of a hill, but this doesnt worry me, i need to shift a few pounds anyway, and it might tire my son out because he seems to have bags of energy at the moment.
Thanks for looking for me, and i think i may end up booking with monarch hotels as its the same price as lowcostholidays.
toastedmallow - thanks very much the gran canaria apartments seem to be a bit pricey, so i will have to look into it for next summer.
