Emirates vs BA

We're planning to go back to the Maldives this June - we went 3 years ago for our honeymoon and flew Emirates (economy) from Gatwick. We were really pleased with the flights but just wondering if anyone has flown direct with BA and how you found it? Is the direct flight better? And what did you think of economy cabin comfort? I think the seat pitch is less than emirates.

Both airlines offer a good level of service, but I think Emirates offer a better overall service. It comes down to personal preference and price though. You might find our airline topics over on the Flight Forum useful, particulatly the British Airways and Emirates threads. Both airlines operate the Boeing 777's with BA having 31" seat pitch in economy and Emirates 34". The direct BA service obviously means a shorter time to destination, but at the expense of less room on the aircraft.
