Got back yesterday after a fabulous week in Benidorm.
We flew out of Manchester at 6 am Sat 19 Dec, it was touch an go getting there as we had car trouble but took off on time and missed all the chaos thank goodness. Arrived at 11.30 am at the Princes Park hotel and got our room straight away a nice room with a great view of the park. Had a steady day and tried to catch up on some sleep. We were cold as it was only 6 degrees and took a bit to warm the room up and being tired didn`t help. Our evening was spent at Tapas alley, it was fairly quiet, not as many Spainish about as we thought they might have been.
Sunday up early for breakfast. Then a walk along Levante promanade with the odd Brandy and coffee or two. Had a couple of vinos (1 euro) in Andys bar. The sun finally camp out, it was lovely sitting sipping our vino. Went back to Dove parc and had a late lunch at the Chinese. Had a rest then had a late tea in the hotel. We they went to the Pig and whistle for a few games of pool (our son loves pool). Then had a night cap at Red Lion, our son was pleased we returned to this pub as they have a Ps 2, Jimmy the owner invited him to play.
Monday, missed Breakfast and decided to have an early lunch in the hotel. We then we to Villa Joiysa on the train. A bit dissapointed as the road was all up again, we had the same problem 3 or 4 years ago so we were suprised. We had a walk around and a couple of drinks in Cafe Ole. We got the train back had a rest, dinner in the hotel. Spent the night around tapas alley, Pig and whistle and the Red Lion.
Tuesday, Missed breakfast again and had a lunch in the hotel(fab lunches enjoyed them more than breakfast). Caught the train to Altea, had awander around and Sun came out again for a couple of hours. Got back and had a walk around the old town and Dove park. We walked on to Levante at night but we were not impressed as it was too quiet. So we went back to centro and had a night out they instead
Thursday Christmas eve. We had a ride on the bus to La Cala, it was raining so we didn`t get off the bus in the end we paid to go back instead. We saw the new promanade and did plan to walk along it latter but never got the chance(good excuse to book again asap). The rain cleared so we walked on to Ricon and had a few in Costa Games. Walked back via the Cheap and chearful bar. Dinner in the hotel and we went out with a few people from the hotel. Most Spainish bars were closed so we all ended up in the Red Lion another drunken night.
Friday Christmas day.The sun is blessing us today.Missed breakfast as our son was opening his pressies. Had a walk on both proms , it was packed out, wanted a coffee but could get a seat in the sun.Eventually got a coffee and had some churrios. Went back for Christmas dinner at the hotel. The hotel made a fantastic lunch for us, they had put lots of extra staff on and the waiters were showing everyone to their tables, pouring wine and looking after everyone Cava was served as well. We manged to have a short rest. Then we went for a lovely walk along to the end of Levante and had a few more drinks along the way. Out at night for a couple of drinks avoiding the torrential rain.
Saturday homeward bound.

Glad the weathers picking up for you Mazza. Wish I was still there whatever the weather. We too were the youngest couple in our hotel but its great to feel young again.
Christine means Marianos for chicken btw, not marians just in case anyone's looking for the place. I recommend it too, their chicken is fabulous!!!
Thanks for the report Christine. We are still in Benidorm until 8th Jan and are hoping for some better weather. It was lovely yesterday.
Mariano's chicken
Thanks Lisa , too much vino tinto me thinks.
Anyone still in Benidorm Happy New year to you all and enjoy the rest of your holiday.Fingers crossed for some good weather for you all.
It was great to see the families celebrating with bottles of bubbly on the beach on Xmas day in the sun and running into the sea with their Santa suits on. For anyone who likes their coffee, the Rockstar bar is knocking out cups for only 50 cents and €1 a pint (50 cents a half) and gets very busy.
Robby
We got there december 26th and the weather was great ok so be it a bit windy from time to time but during the day was fantastic our room was a suntrap - at night the usual cardigan or jacket.
We would go back to the calypso again if price was as good as we got for new year much cheaper than our usual hotel the ambassador .The staff were very nice and worked hard the gala dinner has been the best ive had during my visits at new year .
We went to the carousel as its so well kept the place is spotless and not expensive and had a few great nights in there some great singers and met up with lisa who belted out a few songs and kept everyone entertained .
We went to peggys tartan bar and brought the bells in down there, had a great night there met some nice folk from newcastle and halifax everyone enjoyed the night with peatloaf and then a couple from glasgow who stay in benidorm took over after peatloaf till the early hours .
I went into john and joesphs for a coffee and noticed its been made smaller they have made it back to the size it was when i first visited benidorm many years ago . I did ask the waiter why it was a lot smaller and he told me he didnt know lol .
But all in all i had a great week and im now looking forward to my next trip roundabout april time then my summer holiday in july so if anyone sees any we deals for 27th april feel free to pm me .
All the best to you all for 2010 mazza
When you went in John and Josephs were there 2 rooms, we were in there last week and one of the rooms was empty and it had a pool table that wasn`t in use.I just wondered if they had pulled the shutters across the other room with it being so empty.
