My wife and I are spending 2 weeks (6th-20th Sept) at the Hotel Burak. We have visited Turkey many times in the past, but have always stayed in Icmeler, near Marmaris.
I have read many reviews regarding this hotel, some good and some terrible. I am now wondering if we have made the right choice of accomodation.
Do I 'take a chance' and stay at this hotel, or do we spend £70 to change to a different hotel while we have plenty of time before we travel there.
Welcome onboard
We have reviews of this hotel at Burak Hotel reviews. You may find the following post useful as it has reference to the hotel; Altinkum.
If you click on Resort Reports at the top of the page you should find reviews of Altinkum.

We have stayed in the Burak hotel in Altinkum but to be honest it was quite a few years ago now.
Hopefully someone who has stayed there more recently will be able to give an more up to date view of their stay there.
What I will say is that the hotel is in a brilliant location. You just come out of the hotel turn left and walk for a minute or two and this takes you down to the main beach. In Altinkum there are 3 beaches The 3rd beach is the one at Altinkum Marina (to the right). The Burak was clean with good maid service but the breakfasts were very basic. This didnt bother us too much as we ate breakfast out quite a few times.
It is only a few minutes walk to Dolphin Square which comes alive at night. We definately enjoyed our holiday in Altinkum so much so that we went back a few more times over the years. The daily boat trips were brilliant and amazing value. As I said earlier lets hope someone who has been there more recently will offer some advise but I would have no hesitation in going back to this resort and to this hotel.
I Have been to Turkey 10 times in the past 8 years, but have always stayed in Icmeler, near Marmaris, which, I will highly recommend. But we always stayed with friends of ours who had apartments, now sold unfortunately.
So, this is the first time that we have really had to 'look' for a place to stay. Well, we will have to see for ourselves. I don't mind basic facilities, so that's no problem.
Thanks again.
Steve.
Hope your stay at the Burak is enjoyable. I agree, basic is fine (as long as its clean).
You may still get some positive reports from other members of the forum and this will put your mind at rest a little.
Many years ago we were booked for a holiday to Zante and just before we left there was a huge article in a well known newspaper about this particular hotel slating it to bits (food, cleanliness, staff etc). We went along feeling a bit apprehensive but had a brilliant time with no complaints whatsoever. As I have said before "one man's meat is another man's poison..."
So Good Luck!
