hey gil i worked near both in cdp..to be honest l franc has alway been nice and a wee bit pricer,,tam is i would say more village like and qaint,,bearing in mind i dont know what your paying..but 5 mins walk away is callella dp...where you would be amazed at the prices youd pay comapared to those two at this moment on campin las siesta for a nice lodge self catering for 2 people you would pay 180 pounds for a week,,and for t4 the same,,,,,yet you could still visit both l franc and tam..hope this helps.

We are having a week in L'Franc in 3 weeks time and 1 week in Tossa Der Mar....
Tamariu is the smaller of the two, but both are very similar, very quite with an idealic sandy beach surrounded by typical restaurants/cafe's ..
Tam & Lfranc are surrounded by tree lined coves and typify some of the most beautifull regions of the Costa Brava.
My parents have stayed in Tamariu many a time just for the relaxing, unspoilt and peacfull surroundings.
We like both and you will be impressed with all the neighbouring resorts such as Callela , Sa Tuna, and many more....
Oh and a hire car is a must !!
Just take your pick and as I say thers not much in it at all !!

yes that pretty much covers it from barty though tam is quiter in my opinon,,and u would only need a car if u want to see lots of places,,so thats good advice,,though bear in mind that coastline has some of the best walks (with paths etc)around.so if u are not doing much venturing and capable of and enjoy walking .,,, no car needed
