I'd get in touch asap Mick. That voucher is proof of booking for the hotel incase of any problems.

I'm a bit confused, Mick.

Did you book flight only?
Or did you book flight plus accomodation but not at Park Avenue annexe?

If you've booked a package (flight & accommodation) but they've stated the wrong hotel, you need to get it sorted before you go.

If you've booked flight only, I don't understand what you mean about just turning up at the hotel? Which hotel?

If yo've booked flight only, you usualy get a voucher for dorm accomodation,i think by law they have to do this, but just ignore it &use/find your own.

there have been a few posts in the past about these accomodation vouchers. from what I understand , you are required by Indian law to have somewhere booked for the first night or you are not allowed to board the plane in the UK.
Also on the swine flu forms you need to put an address in Goa
So when you book flight only , one nights accomodation is always included so as to comply with the law.
Not sure if this applies to sheduled flights or just to charter flights.
I have no idea if the voucher is actually valid when you get there, or what kind of accomodation it would be.
If the Park Avenue Annexe is part of the hotel of the same name it sounds pretty basic
From what I have read on here in the past, people seem to accept the voucher and then forget about it when leaving Dabolim.
If you are worried though, contact your agent.

I think it is just for charter flights. We are staying in a guest house and arranged it over the phone so have no proof & no voucher.I rang the tour operator and they said as we arn't on

a charter we didn't need one.

Ah sorry Mick. I thought you'd booked alternative accommodation.

boromick - If you have booked flight only, the hotel will not be expecting you to check in and you won't need to contact the rep.

As has been said before, when booking a flight only charter you are usually required to have an accommodation voucher to prove it's a "package". Some airport check-in staff are very keen to ensure that you have this voucher. It is for administration purposes only and you can stay where you like on arrival.

boromick - you may not even be asked to show the voucher - as others have said, it's because you are flying flight only on a charter. Don't worry about it though, many of us have done the same :tup - you just find our own accommodation when you get there - it is confusing when you don't know.
