HI
Looking to stay at Ashvem Beach for a night or two. Usually stay at Rock Bites but I've been there so many times it's lost its special appeal now.
Can anyone recomend an alternative?
PJ's is really nice although I'm shocked at the pricing. I stayed there 3 yrars ago and the comfort room was 4.500 RS.
Like many other boutique hotels in India, they are overpriced.
Having come back from Thailand similar accom' is a lot cheaper.
Another minus for Goa I'm afraid... when the going get's tough they put prices UP!

I agree Neil.
PJ's looks nice but anything over 800 rupees per night sounds like too much to me

Actually there is too much overpricing in Goa. In Agonda paid 2000 RS for 2 in an unmentioned hotel with no AC. Sorry but I'm at the age that I do like the choice of AC not just a fan.
The boutique hotels in Goa are well overpriced, similar in Thailand is cheaper and much better. This seems to be the latest con in Goa, do a bit of design on basic accommodation add AC add some nice throws and colour schemes and charge what you like.
Sur la mer across from PJs want 12,000 Rs cheapest! I had dinner with the owner a few years back a real 'Bengal Lancer'.
PJs... I'm sure you can get a discount on web price. But beware the hotel may well be full of rich obnoxious R*****NS.

La Plage in Ashvem has accommodation i think, and you will be treated to top quality food!
