the sonesta beach club is coming up... you say this is the sister hotel is it next door/nearby?to sonesta beach resort?

Lyn is indeed correct, I have stayed there, and we dived with Emporer divers. (and no Lyn, I was not on the voddy last night..haven't touched a drop for a couple of weeks now.. ).

Sonesta beach club will be fine for what you need..dive schools along that road into Naama Bay are 10 a penny and all will promise you the earth as they want your business. Michelle is the Sonesta Beach Queen and can tell you positively everything about the place....

The hotel is about 10 minutes away from the floating jetty which is where most of the day boats leave from (now that is an experience in itself!) but most dive schools will offer transport to and from the hotel FOC..and to save you carting your dive gear back and forth, they will also store it securely at thier premises ( depends how much diving you are doing and how often).

Oonas is attached to SBR and offers a very good service. What level of diver are you? The day boat run can be chaotic and sometimes quite stressful..and to be honest, unless you are going a fair way from Sharm and diving in places like Ras Mo where there are some very good reefs, there is not much life to see around the Sharm/Naama coast. Much of the coral is dead/colourless and most of the wildlife has more sense than to visit there!

Thanks Justval, its my husband and son who will be diving they are both divemaster = ... i am qualified but dont dive so for me its the pool and beach only !!!! huh lonesome me!!! but still sure i will enjoy...going back to check the availabilty,, can we walk to naamma bay from here dont want to fork out on taxis and my son is 26 and likes night life!! not easy to plse everyone is it, plus I am double checking as some say all inc ends up NOT all inc in he resorts i dont want to spend a fortune on meals, taxi's etc as this trip has come out of the blue (at my sons request!! all his mates are hooked up and he wants compny!! and his dad and him love diving together)

Your son should be ok with NB . Not really sure exactly whats there in terms of nightlife but I know my boys have enjoyed Pacha on previous trips . Even if you did end up further out a bit dont think he would have any problem getting down there . I know he's a bit older than mine who are 19 and 17 but they've always had plenty of opportunities to spend the night in NB from wherever we have been staying .

when we stayed at the sonesta resort last Easter they still jumped in a cab but it cost peanuts.

I can recommend the dive centre either at the Sonesta Beach Resort 20 mins walk from the centre of sharm along the promenade, or the Oonas dive centre. The Oonas are English not Egyptian speaking English. They are very professional and you can actually stay in their hotel quite cheap. It includes bed and breakfast and the rooms are very big. You will get a sea view as well and a balcony. You share the beach with sonesta beach and a few others, but alas no pool at the Oonas. If you are diving and want the accommodation together this is a great opportunity. Plus it is very reasonable. You can email them and the will secure your room and pick you up from the airport at no extra cost. The only thing you need do is get your flight booked.

On the other hand if you areinterested in SBR i can help you with this as i am the sonesta queen having been to it 8 times and going back this November for the 9th time

I have never found a problem with the beach and you can if you wish walk into the sea but beware the coral, otherwise same as most hotels jump off a jetty to enter. The beach from the Oonas dive bar and restaurant is 1 second. The beach can get crowded at times but sun loungers are scattered on the sand and up on the cliffs for a great view of Naama bay.

How long do you think it would take to walk into NB from the Sonesta Club michelle . We never went over there from the beach resort so wouldnt like to guess for chilly.
