This might sound a little weird but here I go.
We went to Sidari last year and had a great time with a 12 and 10 year old as the resort offers livley or quiet night time entertainment. We stayed at the Kanali appt which were great and all was good apart from one thing. The swimming pool was not very warm.
We are experienced holidayers and although the weather was very hot and it was nice to cool down in it, generally it felt cool. We tried the pool at the hotel next doorand that was the same. Maybe it was the location of the hotels?
We have previously been to Parga, Kos, Kefalonia at the same time of year and going in the pool was like going in the bath. I would appreciate any thoughts you have on this?
Kind Regards, Derek
Kerkyra is considerably further north in the Ionian sea, off the coast of Albania and Sidari is about as far north on the island as it gets
Kefalonia is also in the Ionian sea but a fair distance further south , most of the resorts are on the east coast so gain some shelter from the mainland
Kos on the other-hand is in the Aegean sea just off the coast of Turkey, where it is considerably further south and east of Kerkyra, therefore has longer hours of sunshine and also the advantage of the thermal mass of Turkey, so has a slightly higher ambient temperature,
the other difference of course may be that some hotels heat their pools at the beginning and end of the season
