Now that Bozburun have just opened a Customs Office, they can accept trips from across the channel so we are hoping that we can try a day trip from Symi (only 3 miles away). These usually go to Datça on market day but Bozburun will make an interesting change.
Is there a market there? What should we find on a day trip? Any suggestions?
Have they definitely opened an office... It was muted but never came to fruition.... would be interested if they have as there is a British couple running trips to Simi on a gulet...great trip especially the flying fish!
Bozburun info HERE.
The news is raising interest in Symi Symi visitor HERE as it would be pleasant to have another day trip venue and Bozburun is very close.
Looks like April now. The news is raising interest in Symi Symi visitor HERE as it would be pleasant to have another day trip venue and Bozburun is very close.
I'll keep an eye out for the development, but it seeems a little too optimistic. They were supposed to open last year but it got dumped in red tape.the mayor made it his election promise to get votes.... I am a little sceptic to say the least.
If it comes off then it would be another place to visit but then looking on the downside the port taxes are ridiculous to get to any Island.
there still isn't a customs office there so I don't know how they enter....port taxes are ridiculous. Will be interesting to see the result when the turkish customs boat stops them.
Especially since the Bozburun mayor will be aboard.
The weekly trips from Symi to Bozburun started officially last week while we were there. They go each Thursday from Yialos Harbour at a cost of (I think) €35, including port taxes.
they seem to have a customs house there of sorts too..... I might check this out soon, I fancy a day out to Symi!
