Hey guys.
Here's the thing.
I absoloutly love New York and i would give my right arm to have the chance to live there.
What im wanting to do is to try a working summer maybe just do 4/5/6 months out there but i havent got a clue of where to begin in terms of looking for jobs, a place to live, what visa's id need etc.
I know its not normally a place where people do working summers as this tends to be more of the camp americe kind of things, but im desperate to work and live (at least for a little while) in New York.
Anybody who can provide me with information about any of the above, websites etc, i would be very appreciative.
Thankyou.
In tourist areas there are usually a lot to be had.. but earnings are not predictable, based on tips etc.
I believe you have to obtain a job first, then a work permit with some guarantee of employment from the company that hires you..
Have you tried e mailing the US Embassy in London to ask for details of what is required? Or search their website....
Absolutely no chance of working in the USA. Not even for one day. Read it up on the US embassy website. You cannot even stay there for more than 3 months even if not working. To stay as a visitor for more than 3 months you need a B2 visa and they do not just dish them out, especially if you are younger than 50!
