If there is a Macdonalds, there will be free wi-fi.

I checked with them for Bugibba recently and they had it free in Macd's there - saying that, we never used it as we found 2 or 3 bars that offered free wi-fi to their customers. You just had to ask and they gave you the login details.

It's also free at Macdonalds here in Cyprus, so sounds like it's worldwide.

There is nothing like a MacD's in Marsaxlokk, I think there is at least one small bar that offers it to their customers so I will ask them when I am in there.
