The MD is fine as far as I'm concerned, at £28 per night taxi fares are easily absorbed compared to staying elsewhere. They have a bus on the hour until 6.00pm, besides we walk when we can to as it's healthy and makes a stop at Mayonna Creek all the more rewarding ! There are enough good eating places around the MD not to have to go anywhere by taxi. Razza's, Nicks Place, Aubergine,Starlight, Spice,Spice Oven are just a few.
I don't know why people complain about the MD breakfast either. Perfectly acceptable Fried eggs and omelettes are good, the fresh bread rolls too. Porridge or flakes. Fruit juice. I'm not sure what else they have to provide to make it good in some peoples eyes. I'd like to know an hotel , other than the luxury ones that can match it. In Kerala we stayed in 12 different places and some as dear as £150 per night and nowhere was better.
They have made a few improvements... the tennis court dining hall is now tiled ! Dining out lakeside on BBQ night is excellent both in quality and ambience. We even had a new toilet seat fitted while we were there !
Agreed, things could be improved but prices could go up too. I'm happy with the place as it is. Clean, comfortable and totally unpretentious.
It gets my vote !
