I drove past it 2 seasons ago on my scooter. Ended up in Belgaum .Took 5 hours ! we were told there was no road but we carried on and there was no road,it was just thick sand. No petrol stations. But we made it and Belgaum was good for shopping and its not so hot there.

It was quite expensive but so worth it! The sun sets are jaw dropping and the whole experiance is a bit of an adventure!

Yeah it looks expensive but if your staying a long time in the busier touristy parts its would just be nice to get away without flying or taking trains.

Some nice pictures Mardon which certainly makes it look very inviting. I started a hotel review on HT for the Widernest as it has often been mentioned in the past but getting information not always easy. We were disappointed to the extent that we booked out early.
My review gives it 4 stars which is misleading because in areas that make the difference it isn't judged. Price is one, and at R7000 per night it represents poor value. I have recently visited Kerala and similar places are much cheaper.
We were of course affected by poor weather during our stay which din't help matters.
Incidentaly, as for getting away from it all at the busier resorts, try walking over Baga Hill from around the Saturday Night Market area, there's a path which will take you all the way to Anjuna beach and you probably won't meet a soul. It's brilliant !

Yipes 7000rs a night ! My apt for the month is not much more than that.I thought it would have been about 2500 rs a night. I still go there but be a day visitor.
If your only in goa for a few weeks its ok but i am usually there for 5 months.
