Brilliant, thanks Dazbo.I'm quite happy to buy bottles or cans to stock it,we like a drink on the balcony sometimes and most AI hotels don't allow taking drinks to your room.T.

OSCARBEN,

Drinks are served in the restaurant from when breakfast opens, normally 0700. The Nazer bar (pool area) opens at 10am (when breakfast finishes) until 11pm. Water and soft drinks are available self service throughout the day while the Nazer bar is open. The bar in the lounge (Drunken Crab) is open during the busier months in the evenings. For those who went up to 2006, there was also the Hubble Bubble bar (now Cupids) that was part of the hotel and was open until 12am (midnight) for all inclusive, and as long as paying customers were in afterwards. Mahmet, now the head waiter used to sit with us as there was normally just our party of 6 in as we used to have a good laugh in an evening. However the hotel management as it was then (changed now, for the better), said it was too cold so he closed it. Bear in mind it was September and still in the middle to late 20's at midnight! How things have changed but don't worry, you'll have plenty of refrshments available. The Tang Orange is actually quite nice with an ice cube in!

OSCARBEN,

Rooms in the main building are all pretty much the same. Although the ones overlooking the pool are nice, they're in the sun all day and get very hot so I'd favour a room oposite the pool as they stay cooler. You lose your balcony view, but I think it's worth it. Rooms 01-09 (add a 1-4 at the beginning for the floor number, eg 201) overlook the pool but only have sun for part of the day so they aren't as bad and cool down a little. Rooms in the annex are larger family rooms so unless you're more than 2 people, you won't get them.

we're going here 23 July, never gone AI in Icmeler, usually cheap n cheerful self catering. So thought we'd have a treat.

My daughters friends family stayed there last year at the same time we were at Vinces and they were quite pleased with everything.

Security was quite strict, as there was a security guard on and my daughter and her friend who were staying at Vinces with us, their hair straightners broke which was a big drama to say the least. So they had to keep borrowing the friends mums straightners, they only got let in the complex once and then had to arrange to meet half way. Was quite funny really.

this year there's only me hubby and the youngest who's 14, so hope theres some teenagers for her to make friends with.

Re the air conditioning, not actually sure whether we'll be in an annexe room so have a light weight travel fan that we usually take with us in case.

We are also only taking our 14 year old daughter ,as son going with girlfriend few weeks later. Also hoping that she will make friends with some other teenagers-at least know there will be one other teenager for her to speak "teen" to-she comes complete with GHD's for emergencies!

Hi everyone,
I have booked this hotel next summer for myself my wife and my 17 year old son. In previous years when my son`s friend has been with us we have booked apartments or hotels with two bedrooms. Thomas cook assure me that there will be three full size beds for us but what I need to know is the sleeping configuration. Are the beds all in one room or is there a separate bedroom for two beds? I have looked at Images on the Internet, but I have yet to see a photo which is conclusive. Has anybody who has stayed at this hotel any information on this? In all other aspects this hotel seems to suit our needs, ie location, value for money etc.
Thanks in advance Petefin.

petefin,

There are a number of larger (family) rooms located in the hotels annex section. There are various configurations in the annex, some with 3/4 beds in one large room, some 4 or 5 beds in two rooms. I've stayed in a large 3 bed room and it was one single room with a double and a single. The two bedroom rooms I've been in (that friends were staying in), had 2 or 3 beds in the main section and 2 beds in the second room. I think there's a large room with 5 beds in as well. The air conditioning works in the annex area as they are individual units. The air conditioning in the main section is next to useless!

OSCARBEN,

Visitors are welcome providing guests do not get drinks for them and they are purchased. However sunbeds and seating etc are there for residants and take prioriy over guests.

Thanks for your answer Dazbo, but we were there in August,I agree with Dazbo that the air con in the main building was absolutely useless. We are in dispute with Thomas Cook as we were not told it was only available 10pm-7am and 3pm-7pm in bedrooms, none at all anywhere else in the hotel,it ruined our holiday and many other guests complained.Petefin,if you are going high season try to get the hotel to guarantee a room with individually controlled air con.Friends of ours were a family of 3 and their son slept on the balcony most nights.I think theirs was even more useless than ours.We were just a couple in a twin room.T.

We also stayed at this hotel this year for two weeks at the beginning of July. We had two rooms, we had booked these 10months before our holiday and asked for adjoining rooms, as my two teenage daughters were sharing one room and our son was in with my husband and myself, and yet we were put in two rooms but six rooms apart! With regard to the air con, you may as well not have it. I found it very difficult to sleep and also it went off in the morning much before the 7am that the hotel state. The other thing with the air conditioning is that it is not in any of the public areas, the restaurant and the lounge area for example. The heat when we were there was in the high 40's and to find anywhere cool to sit other than in the pool was impossible. The heat in the restaurant was also unbearable at times. Other than the air con we had a fab holiday, the staff in the restaurant and bar were very helpful and friendly. Clean and tidy, nice room, fab area, pool was lovely, could possiblu do with more entertainment/games around the pool for the teenagers. We will definately return to the hotel but as stated in previous reviews would ask for a room in the annexe. xx
