Just got married, and are planning to honeymoon in August. Would love to go to Malta and have my heart on somewhere really special to stay. I've done a bit of research, but wondered if there was a hidden gem that anyone knew about? We usually (as a family) stay in 5* all inclusive when we go away, as we find it so much easier with kids who can eat for England/ get bored easily! So, we would like our honeymoon (sans kids) to be a little bit more special? (Some of the huge big 5* hotels look great, but I've heard drinks etc are expensive.) Would love to be in walking distance of restaurants / harbour or town etc, have very nice standard of accommodation but not get ripped off!
Am I asking for the impossible??
Many thanks in advance....we're also thinking of going to a small greek island, but my late grandparents honeymooned in Malta so it just seemed perfect!

Have a look at the Fortina Hotel in Sliema. We've stayed there a few times and are going again in July. You can stay all inclusive in the 5 star part of the hotel and have access to Sliema, a harbour town, as well as excellent views of Valletta, which can be easily reached by bus or the ferry service. 
as is everything in the 5 star part of the Hotel. There is also a 4 star part of the hotel.
