I don't wear makeup during the day at home, so dont on holiday either.
During the day its just a lip balm with sunscreen.
At night, blusher (no need for bronzer or foundation because as soon as I look at the sun my face has a colour) mascara and lip gloss, maybe a little eyeshadow depending on where we are going.

I just don't bother - I don't wear make-up at home or work, so it's one less thing to worry about on holiday. To be honest, in holiday heat, it just slides off my face anyway, so there's little point. I'm very fair, but can't really be bothered faffing about with it all, and I have sensitive skin too, so have to watch what I use on my face anyway. Holidays for me are for relaxing and enjoying myself, not worrying about what I look like.
sorry too old for false eyelashes, but like the idea of tinted ones or the mascara with wee bit vaseline on top, will have a go. wonder if the bodyshop has any new bodies in yet. thanks again to all who replied xphx
Never wear it through the day but I always apply it on an evening, bronzer, eyeshadow, blusher, lippy, mascara and eyeliner. I've even bought some false eyelashes this year, last year my hollywood lashes all fell off!!!! As my face gets more tanned, I leave off the bronzer.
My makeup bag dramatically reduces in size when im on holiday, i normally just take mascara, eye shadow, blusher bonzer thing, lipgloss. I dont tend to wear mascara by day on holiday, but i did have a good boots no seven waterproof one at one point
as a make up artist i LOVE going on holiday as its the only time I dont have to lug a suitcase of make up around with me! Its a pleasure! I take a tinted moisturiser with an spf in for the day/evening also. waterproof mascara then some bright coloured lipsticks or the evenings too! loads of lipbalm with spf in for the day also!
I have noticed that although most perfumes in the duty free are no cheaper than you can find online, most of the companies have some really fab little cosmetic compacts that you can't get anywhere but the duty free shops.
I still use bronzer with a tan as it gives a nice glow and limits any shine.
this is not exactly what i asked for at the start of this post so i hope you don't mind..........does anyone know where to get a little packet of papers called poudere papers they can be dabbed on your skin to stop shine and moisture, i have new glasses which are putting pressure on my nose and causing red marks i remembered i had these wee papers years ago but cannot remember where i bought them, i thought they would help dry the skin so that it can heal. i wear my glasses all the time now. thanks xphx
You can get them from MAC and also randomly from Muji x
thank you so much for your quick reply xphx
Haha no problem, anything make up related and I'm your gal! Hope you find some!
I always have my eyebrows tinted before I go away, even though I am dark it does make a difference. For my son's wedding in Cyprus next year I will also be having lash extensions for the 1st time.
Parker, I got some from Victoria Health online - free delivery.
Be very careful with the lash extensions. Do not get them wet in the pool, do not get them wet in the sea, be careul when you wash your face, be careful when you dry your face, be careful putting your make up on.
I had them done for my wedding last year and I had a nightmare keeping them because of the above reasons!!! I think when you get these, your not meant to do anything whilst you have them!! Every morning I'd wake up and there would be another on the pillow!! Total waste of money they were. I'd get some flasies, not to long, and have a few practices putting them on and just wear these, a lot less hassle and cheaper too.
slide off my face.
In the evenings, I wear Benefit's 'You Rebel' which is a tinted moisturiser and really rather light compared to other foundations. I then apply a little MAC Studio Fix on top of this to take away the shine and give more of a matte finish. I don't tend to go heavy on the eye makeup, I'll sometimes use a little bit of MAC pigment for a little bit of sparkle, but nothing overly heavy. Benefit 'It Stick' and 'Eye Bright' are also my essentials!

Hi Sephs, I am a real Benefit fan, I love the California Kissin mint lip gloss, I cannot survive without the swoonderful lippie, I also love the It stick and eye bright, both are free with Glamour Magazine at present
thank you quite fancy tinting them xphx
Ive now decided i cant go anywhere without benefit moon beam, and badgal waterproof mascara we went camping for one night at this surf type festival which totally isnt my thing normally, and the mascara stayed put.
Parker H - Clinique do the little anti-shine papers as well. And Body Shop used to - don't know if they still do. I am uncomfortable with the idea of wearing foundation in the sun. As for mascara - I have never been able to wear it - whatever I do (all the usual tricks such as primer, powder etc) I end with the panda-look underneath my eyes within a few hours. I take a liner, a bronzer and 8 hour cream for my lips and brows - this can also be used like the vaseline on the lashes for a slight enhancing effect. But then I am dark (although increasingly grey now) - if I had fair lashes I might have tried harder over the years to make the mascara thing work!
can anyone recommend a lasting moisturising lipstick that would set off a nice summer tan. I'm fair and tend to go for pale shimmering pinks but wouldn't be adverse to new ideas. I've been using lipgloss lately but feel it's too sticky for the hot weather and don't really know where to start with a nice lipstick. Don't want to spend a fortune though, any ideas on makes or shades please?
