New to this forum.
Just a quick query ,in your opinion is it worth paying the extra 150 quid for half board,or should we go for b+b and eat out in the evening?
Thinking of marmarjis for 2011 done rhodes and the greek isles but dont like the euro rate
Regards
Steve
The choice of restaurants and food is so good in Turkey, and also quite cheap that we would always recommend self catering or b&b. This is true particularly in Marmaris.
Thanks for the swift reply alfie
Firstly welcome to the forums. It's a personal decision you have on your hands and you will find many on here have different opinions. We have been going to Marmaris since 1999 and always go SC as we like the freedom of picking a different restaurant each night if we want to. That said, times are a changing as is the financial climate and many on here like the comfort of HB or even AI but still like to try out a restaurant or two. Marmaris is a bustling resort but is home to many fine restaurants and for us that's what makes our holiday. As I say it's a personal choice and no matter what you choose it will give you an idea what to choose on your next visit ... believe me there will be another one.

If it's just a matter of weighing up the cost, is the £150 difference for a week or fortnight? That way you can see how much more the daily rate for half board is. When we price up a holiday we often say we could get more for our money by going SC or B&B and eating out, but there is a lot of talk on this forum of Turkey not being particularly cheap anymore so you'd have to know roughly how much your evening meal would cost in a restaurant.
Welcome to HT Steve. We've always gone B&B and been rarely disappointed. With regards to evening meals, Turkey is as expensive or cheap as you want it to be. Look for Set Menu deals or look for the restaurants where the Turkish people eat ie ALO24 and Lokantas. If you don't like too much heat, then look to be going out there May, early June or September.
