I am used to booking flights to Dalaman and do so regularly so am aware of the costs of these flights through aegean etc. However next year I wanted to have a change and go to Cirali in July for my birthday. I have found flights from my local airports which are Doncaster and Humberside for £1127 for 2 in total. This is ridiculously expensive when you consider I can go to Dalaman same week for £293 in total for 2 return. Does anyone fly regularly to Antalya and offer any advice, otherwise it will be Dalyan or Akyaka again.
any comments will be greatly appreciated.
majie, justtheflight.co.uk currently have flights from Humberside to Antalya for two weeks from 18th July (I guessed on dates!) at £265 for two.
Hope this helps.
Hi Hope this helps.
brilliant, thanks so much, i will take a look and let you know.... you were very nearly there.... just a week out !! i want to be away for the 12th. thanks
i have just seen my basic error in my original message.... i forgot to say next year !!!. i am wondering therefore if it is worth waiting for nearer the time instead of planning in advance
Oops, no you did say "next year". Have to change my glasses. But hope the website helps for 2011, too!

They have just released flights from Manchester and Newcastle to Antalya. These flights are with Sky Airlines. We have just booked Saturday flights for next June for just £132.50 pp return incl. taxes and 15kgs luggage allowance.

We two are going June next year paid 113 each plus luggage what day are you going Lud ? And were you staying ? x
We fly on the 11th, and will be hiring a car from the airport for the whole 2 weeks, which well at least partially offset the transfer costs. At the moment we have 2 possible locations for our stay:
Our first option is to rent a private apartment in the Oba district of Alanya. These are all mostly 4/5 kms east of the centre, but within 3/400 metres of the beach. We haven't visited Alanya for about 10 years and this is the most likely decision. We have a short list of 5, which are all similar location and price.
The second option, which I really fancy, is to drive about 6 hours east (300 mile) from the airport to a largely Turkish/German resort called Kizkalesi (Maiden's Castle). There are lots of hotels and pansiyons which are located directly on the beach. The Turks are all from the local cities of Mersin, Tarsus and Adana. The Germans fly into Adana, which is about 100kms away. Google 'Kizkalesi' or have a look at some of the videos on YouTube.
The area is packed with historical sites, as well as having super beaches and great fish restaurants. It looks perfect for us, but the big decision is whether we can cope with the drive there, following our landing in the early hours. Driving in Turkey isn't a concern, as I do it most years, but the other concern is whether Sky Airlines will be able to maintain their take-off and landing slots at Manchester, as they are new to the airport, and from past experience it is not impossible that the flights may move by several hours - fingers crossed that they don't.
What are your plans?
Hi we fly the 11th also from Newcastle staying in the resort off Kemer
Hope that you have a great trip.
Just had a quick look on Aegeans website, and the price has now jumped up to £190 within a week of their release.
