Did you say Jules that you have confirmation from Easyjet regarding the price difference in a print out?
If so IMO OTB owe you £244. You paid for a service you did not receive ie a morning flight. Now had the boot been on the other foot I'm sure OTB would have made you pay for any flight price increase! The way I see it is that Easyjet have had to cancel your 2 day later ticket and rebook you on the evening flight for 21st. OTB may have lost money due to their boo boo if Easyjet wouldn't give them a refund of the 23rd's tickets. Looks like OTB are trying to recoup some of their loss. I wouldn't accept their offer of £50, by offering you this 'gesture of goodwill' they are admitting liability IMO. Check your household insurance as you may be covered for legal expenses, if not try CAB.
The only reason i have is because the girl from easyjet said she would give us the copy, just in case OTB tried to refute a booking error.
what i do find amusing in all of this, is that I actually sent an email to the head of customer services previously withou response, and now on this occasion it seems he wanted to be involved due to the mention of legal proceedings.
i will check my household insurance
Let us know any outcome
i will do, i am away with work this month, so am still penning my response to their customer service manager to decline his offer of goodwill
as i have previously alluded- i received an email from the customer services manager and he informed me that there was no recourse as OTB sourced an alternative flight and got us to our destination- but offered £50 as a gesture of goodwill
this was in fact never paid into the online OTB account
11 days after this email, i received another email, not from the manager but just a customer services person (dont mean to be disparaging by that comment- just not management) and they had managed to refund me 1 nights accommodation??? circa £164
i have now emailed and said that I want the additional £50 as promised by the manager and also expect credit card charges to be refunded, and that from my perspective will be the end of the matter.
it does seem as if there is lack of communication between their customer service depart-mental staff
Hi, I spoke briefly to a solicitor who maybe taking over assisting our members where Ros left off. I happened to mention your case & he said that as you were never booked on the flight (as per Easyjet's information) then your flight was in fact classed as cancelled.
would i still be eligible since i have already accepted £164 from them?
would be nice to get one over as opposed to breaking even?

Doubt it very much. You should have rejected everything offered and said so loudly.
