It is certainly possible but it would be a very long drive, I would say at least 6 hours each way so you would really have to stay overnight there.

most car hire firms hire them or if you have a tomtom you can download the maps for approx £40

it would be a hell of a drive but a reasonablly straightforward one,basically head back towards the airport through fethiye but instead of turning into dalaman head towards marmaris,drive on until you reach gokova/marmaris turn keep going towards mugla then once through mugla follow the bodrum signs once you hit bodrum altinkum is another hours drive it is all clearly signed and a really straight run from fethiye,although it would take flippin ages!!!!

honestly the driving would not bother hubby,he loves driving.
we wouldn't be in any rush & would stay there,a couple of nights.

you can book hotels cheaply on the net as i am sure yoiu know,i find travel republic the best and i bet you will get a decent hotel at areasonable price good luck
