We will be celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary next year and we would like that 'something special' cruise. Have posted on another topic re Panama Canal but open to all suggestions. Would be looking for June/July/August, which would, I think, actually rule out the Canal. Alaska is a possibility but would like some land time as well.

A number of factors contributed to make this special.
Itinerary was mostly new to us and on the must do list.
It was the last cruise with my parents(although not planned that way)
We went with a group of great cruise friends.
We all stayed in suites(NCL suite perks are great)
It was reasonable cost even in the suites(£1500pp 12night).
We don't fixate on dates to remain flexable, that one fitted close to a Bday and parents delayed(1y+) 50th anniversary.
We still like the "us" cruises where we just jump on any ship and get on with it but one thing that cruise and a few other cruises have taught us is that the best most memorable special cruises combine multiple elements and that people are a very important to the ultimate success for us.
We continue lookng for that cruise of a lifetime but that one will be hard to better.
