I think you could find what your'e looking for on almost any Greek island but having spent 6 weeks on Lesvos I think Phil has picked a good one, Petra or quieter Anaxos close by would suit and it dosen't get more picturesque tha Molyvos. With a mainstream airport travel is easy too.

Sorry Intervoice,
we returned last week and found it considerably more expensive than any island we have ever stayed on. We were on the caldera side so Kamari/Perissa might be better

When we stayed in kamari we didn't find it any more expensive than other greek islands we'd visited. This was one of the reasons we picked it, as the Caldera side is known for being expensive for accomodation as well as food and drinks

every island has cheaper places and really expensive places,go out in rhodes old town and you'll pay 10 euros a drink in some places,or even more, whereas if you go to a bar in pefkos you'll pay 3 euros for the exact same drink, same goes for food prices obviously, and if you can find a village square with a couple of bars and tavernas that rarely if ever see a tourist you'll pay even less! that's the beauty of the greek islands, not only is every island different, every town and village is too

if we're talking expensive on Rhodes I reckon Lindos wins hands down! So crazy that Pefkos is 5 mins away and is so much cheaper- that said it's hard to put a price on sitting on one of Lindos's beautiful roof terraces
