It is still fairly busy throughout September, by the 26th it will have started to quieten down a little but everywhere will still be open. There just wont be the crowds of July or August.
September is a lovely time to visit Gumbet - everything is still open and lively but there aren't the crowds that there are in July and August (nor the very high temperatures that make it difficult to do anything either).
great!! thank you jak and kedi
I went for 2 weeks early September and it wasnt busy, quite windy at night, and needed a cardi at night the second week.
Wow Crispy, you must feel the cold more than I do. We live for five months of the year in Gumbet and I have never needed a cardi at night in September - I have in April and October but never in September.
I never need a cardi when we go to Marmaris in September, its never been windy there, but in Gumbet the wind was chilly at night along the seafront.
Yeah, I suppose it can be a wee bit cooler when there's a breeze coming in off the sea. For the original poster, if you do feel it a bit chilly over there, there are some great pashminas for sale and they look really nice as well (another excuse to go shopping LOL).
Thanks for the tips guys
It normally is warm enough not to need a cardi but I certainly remember one year when it was really chilly in the evenings in September so do take something just in case, although you probably wont need it.
can anybody tell me the distance from gumbet to yalikavak and the best way are there dolmus or coaches , tony
You can get the dolmus to Yalikavak, either byt going into Bodrum an picking it up at the bus station or by going up to the main road and waiting for it there. It takes about 30 minutes to get there.

hi everyone, just got home from gumbet thismorning. The weather was absolutley roasting!!!! didnt need a cardi at all, it was really busy and better atmospher than when we went it may!
good im going to gumbet next june hope it ok
We go back to Gumbet for a week on October 18th, glad to hear the weather is still good! I'm looking forward to seeing Gumbet later in the season and quieter, we went for 3 weeks in July and it was boiling and really busy, looking forward to seeing the contrast. By 'roasting', how hot roughly was it? Will we still be able to spend our days in the pool?
I'm sure you will still be able to spend your days by the pool. I have spent many october days by the pool in Gumbet
Just back from Gumbet yesterday so thought I would post an update- really hot most days of our week. I would definitely suggest you pack a cardy or hoody for the evenings- I have been to Turkey loads (but never this late) and was surpried by how chilly the nights were. Some other people that we had spoke to (that were there for a fortnight) said , that it felt quite a bit cooler than their first week. Of course the evenings were still much warmer than the UK but seemed to take a huge dip when it was dark compared to other times I had been.
Still had a fabby time tho...
