I was the same as you with travel adaptors SMa, but now I just leave them in the suitcase between holidays, together with travel hairdryer and iron. I never pack until the night before travelling at the earliest as I see no point in everything getting creased more than necessary. This time I won't arrive at the hotel until about 2 a.m. so I doubt I'll do much unpacking straight away, but just sit out on the balcony having a ciggy and enjoying the atmosphere before going to bed.

I hate packing. I try really hard to get in the mood for it,and also not put too much stuff in my case. I fail on both counts. Packing usually gets done the night before we leave, on the few occasions I have done it earlier I've worried I've forgotten something or changed my mind about some clothes so it's not worth it for me.

The problem with that plan, Aslemma, is that I also travel a fair bit in connection with my work between holidays, so take that sort of thing out of the case when off to a conference etc in the UK and then forget where I put them! This last time I bought a storage basket with a lid and tipped everything like the adaptors etc in there but now have the problem of where to keep it! At the moment it's in a corner of my already cluttered bedroom :D

I am currently packing and can honestly say I HATE it......there's an awful lot to be said for holidaying in this country! I might need a glass of vino soon!

I dont actually pack, I just lay my clothes out and then my other half puts them in the suitcase :tup
I am usually the one who unpacks at the other end though

I have to admit that I think my best packing is after a few glasses of vino. After a night out a few years ago, I decided to pack when we got in - obviously a little worse for wear - for our holiday the next day (or later that day as was the case). There was none of the stress on what to pack, how heavy the cases were etc, it just got done with a big smile on my face. Nothing was forgotten either which was a bonus. Think thats the answer in future :tup

I have a love hate thing going on with packing. I love being organised and having my little lists, but then there's the washing and the ironing and all of the folding/rolling. Then on top of that, the panic of whether your case is overweight. Turns out mine was and I had a great time at T1 in Manchester airport at 3AM digging random flip flops out and launching them at my friends.

I'll never learn. :rofl

I actually love it as it gets me in the holiday mood and start packing about 2 weeks before the holiday. It's the unpacking when I get home I absolutely hate as it seems to take forever and there's nothing worse when you're jet lagged.

packing is the devils job!!! :rofl

i love the list writing and gathering all the toiletries and sun lotions together. We are really organised when it comes to holidays, the nightmare starts when the clothes have to be put in the case!! i hate creased clothes even more so when ive stood ironing them for hours only to be crammed into a suitcase!! Although arriving at our destination makes all those creased clothes distant memories :cheers

I usually do a list a few days before, put the things out on the spare bed and pack my case about an hour before I leave for the airport. This time however I've got a late flight so am going to my son's for lunch and tea before catching my bus to the airport so will have to pack the night before. As I'm unlikely to arrive at my hotel before about 3a.m. I'm dreading the state of my clothes when I finally unpack them. :yikes
