Never been on a horse in all my life, my wife, also a novice wanted to go on one as well , i found a website (menorcacavall) and emailed them.
The site is in english and they have english ppl at the stables so setting this up was very easy. It was very rural at the farm/stables.
I arranged a beach ride , i have done many excursions with tour reps over the years but this was by far the best thing i have done in menorca.
You dont need a car either!

We was picked up from appts in cala forcat resort and taken to stables in Mercadal and from there we were taken to Pregonda beach in the north. we rode for 2 hours and were then taken back to stables and then back to appartments.
The spanish instructor had safety in mind first and was excellent in her training. The sights were fantastic, we went across a beach and we even took the horses into the sea.
The horses are decided, i think, by how good you are at riding, we were on 2 black horses (mimosa and Panadura) and they were so clever, calm and obedient.

Cost :
Car collection and drop off 40 euros
Horse ride 60 euro each
Total = 160 euros

Sounds costly but if you have never been horse riding before then do it ! Its amazing and had a WOW factor.
