Yes, it is hot in Turkey in July/August, but we were in Sharm in Egypt a few years ago where temperatures at mid-day were over 50 degrees celsius, and have visited Iran several times at the same time of year where the temperatures can be over 50 degrees by mid-day, especially in the desert city of Isfahan. But the heat in Egypt and Iran is a dry heat which I find easier to tolerate whereas due to the abundance of green vegetation around Turkish resorts the heat can be more humid which adds to feelings of discomfort. My advice is to sleep just after mid-day, drink plenty - not alcohol during the hottest part of the day for this dehydrates you - keep your clean clothes, including undies, in the fridge, and do as people in many areas of Spain do in the hottest months of the year - invest in an old fashioned hand held fan to waft yourself with.
