Hello
I am wanting to go back to Goa again in March/April 2011 for 2 weeks.
We stayed at the riverside guest house in Jan 2008, and really enjoyed it, but i have heard that thomascook do not do the riverside anymore
I am not looking to book just yet, i will wait until after christmas, as i may find a good deal with it being close to the end of the season.
We liked the riverside guest house for its quiet location, where baga bridge is on the way to Arpora.
We would ideally like to stay here, or somewhere quiet, but that is in baga/calangute area.
In 2009 we made the mistake of booking the Sommy hotel in calangute. I must admit, it was an OK hotel, nice staff and nice pool, but because it was on a main road there was lots of noise, especially at night.
To stay that side of Arpora, you can't beat the Marinha Dourada. Not too sure of the prices at the moment, but i reckon they may have some deals if you leave it till after Christmas! Lovely hotel, beautiful settings and excellent staff. Lots of new restaurants opening around there too. We stayed there for 10 years every year for 2 months.
Goangirl, couldn`t agree more, will really miss it next year !!!
Yummy Mummy why not try the Riverside Regency opposite the Riverside Guesthouse? It is featured by Jewel in The Crown and Olympic Holidays.
Yummy Mummy I can recommend the Riverside Regency, we stay there every year, it's great, if you need any more info let me know.
Riverside regancy is in a great location IMO
I think the MD is a lovely hotel, but it is a bit out of the way for us, and im not sure i would want to pay the extra couple of hundred pounds to stay there, as a couple of hundred pounds goes a long way in Goa for us
The Riverside Regency is facing Baga bridge isn't it? and also across the road from the riverside guest house? If thats the case then this would be an ideal location for us. We like the shacks at the end of Baga beach ( near Oceanic etc)
But in all honesty, im not too fussed just as long as we get a holiday, and as long as it isnt very noisy at night.
thanks again
