If you have Nationwide card there is no charge at ATM's and rate is usually good...NW will however be charging from Nov.. :cry

You will need to check the loading and any fees charged by your card issuer.

I have just returned from Malaga area and whilst there went to change some of my pounds to euros.....

Please Note that a new regulation has come into effect and I believe it is for the whole of Spain.

When changing money the new regulation says that the exchange kiosk must ask to see identification ( passport or ID card ) & If I remember rightly also the address you are staying at.This new ruling takes effect from the last day of october.
At one booth they refused to change my money last week because I had no ID on me and they had a copy of the directive in their window, fortunately the next kiosk changed my money without asking for ID.

If you keep a receipt from exchange booth on your first visit, normally they will change money for you on 2nd visit, just by showing your receipt, therefore no need for passport, although its Spanish law that we should carry ID at all times, i have a copy of my passport, which i keep with me..not totally legal per the law, but better than no ID at all.. if stopped by police.. :(

going to benalmadena end of this month now do we
buy all our euros here or in spain or take travellers cheques or english £s
any advice please :cheers

We always take sterling banknotes and change it at Rubens. They usually have the best
rate in the area. You need to show your passport when exchanging cash though.

I'm keeping an eye on the rates as I need to exchange money during the next 3 weeks. I wonder if things will improve or get worse :que
