recently we went on a holiday to portugal, as we do every year, we usualy book with either holiday letting or owners direct, both of which we are very happy, the sub agent we booked our apartment however not so happy, day before we were due to fly out, got an e-mail stating the apartment we have booked has an electrical problem beyond there control and wont be fixed for 14 days, they did offer us what they called an upgrade, but it only had 1 bathroom the original had 2 and also no private balconies, the original had a large balcony with sunshine most of the day, also there was no bbq, as we always have bbq's on holiday this was not good at all,we spoke to the agent who told us that the whole block was without electric and that everyone was having to move out, we told him that the so called upgrade was not suitable, and did they have anything else, in desperation we said we didn't mind paying a bit more, so you guessed he phoned back in 10 mins with what he said was the only other property they had available, this was going to cost us £200 more for the fortnight, dont get me wrong it was a lovely apartment 3 bed 2 full bathrooms and 3 wc's, when we arrived in portugal and got to the apartment, we found ourselves opposite to the original 1, and guess what all the electric was working, plus the 2nd week of our stay they had put someone in the original apartment, i don't want to name the agent at this time but would like some advise or even find out if they do this all the time to get more money out of people
