There is really useful "how to fill out the visa application" info here:
http://www.indianvisauk.co.uk/application-process.htm
Ours have now been processed and passed back to Royal Mail. Unfortunately there will be no one in until Saturday to sign for them. I don't think it has ever taken this long. We posted them on 9 October, last year it only took about a week. Hopefully now all over for another year.
today, the forms were out of date!!!! very quiet at the centre so sat and filled in 2 more, nice
young man there, checked them all o.k we were out in 30mins even with the new form,s to
fill in,paid for return envelope should be with us in 6 days shall wait and see.......don,t need them
untill Feb but we are going to Florida for Xmas and only had 2 blank pages in our Passports it would
have been just our luck that those pages would be stamped in the US.

posted mine 20th Oct listed ad recieved today 26th keeping everything crossed we get them back with no hiccups
Roll on January 1st. Paula
BEWARE!!!!!
BEWARE!!!!!
The link provided by Haymans is actually an agency who get get your visa for you - but at a price.
If you go through the company that are the official out-sourced company (VFS) it will cost you £39.05 (£30 for the visa plus the VFS handling fee).
The company on the link will charge you the £39.05 PLUS a further £35.00 handling fee.
All agencies who say they will get visas for you still have to go through the same VFS process that anyone can do on their own.
Of course, it's fine to use an agency if you decide that's the best option for you - but do be aware that there are a number of agencies (one of which looks VERY 'official' and has no obvious mention that it is an agency that charges additional fees) that come up on Google.
For anyone who doesn't want to pay any more than necessary for an Indian visas, here is the OFFICIAL website:

Ah yes sorry, I should've said it was an agency. I wasn't planning on using them - I just thought their guide to filling in the form was the most useful one I'd seen.
No problem Hayman, I just thought it worth pointing out in case anyone thought it was the official website.
Visas have arrived. Sent off on 18th and arrived back today. Stress levels have gone down a few notches
Posted off on 20th only showing as received on 26th, in process 27th and handed back to Royal Mail today, hoping it is the passport and visas and not some silly mistake I made on the form. Waiting with baited breath, even worse won't be anyone at home tomorrow to sign for them going to have to wait and collect on Saturday
Ooo nervous! Fingers crossed here for you Ilovegoa

passports have arrived 10am this morning [sat] the pre paid envelope supplied from Visa service
was split across one side and bottom very poor quality they could easily have been lost, they were
delivered by DX service, shall complain to Cardiff visa centre for the poor quality of the envelope,at least
we have them safe in our hands
Yippee passports with visas and flight tickets..... goin goin goin to Goa
Phew! Thanks for letting us know we can all relax
Fly out on 10th December, so should have plenty of time to correct if I've made any errors.
Why can't we just have a visa put into our 10 year passports, and then each year renew the visa without all this hassle, and then when we get a new passport, apply for another visa, and keep renewing that one?
