We found the island very quiet in July but its easy to visit other islands via Nidri in Lefkas

Many thanks for your reply. I looked at the site you suggested and there seems to be one organised beach at Spilia - and I expect that it maybe possible to use hotel beaches as well.

We went to Lefkada a few years' ago and the Ionian Islands are our favourite. Unfortunately, due to work commitments, next year we have to visit in August so I was hoping the smaller the island, the less the crowds!

Paxos was amazing last year - and I have seen posts comparing the two islands as similar.
