I saw this place half an hour ago. There's no name on the outside but I have just compared it to the pictures on Thomson's web site. It's definitely the same place and there's no way it's going to be finished by the 14th November as Thomson seem to be advising people.
We didn't go inside but that's where the activity seems to be. It's built and painted outside but the front patio is still being laid and it's crawling with workmen. I think the swimming pool may need filling too.
Location-wise, it's where I said it was on my other post. If you go up the road where Candolim market and Casa Manik supermarket are, it's maybe 50 yards or so on your left. Handy for the centre of Candolim.
It looks like it will be nice when it's finished.

The way I see it I am hoping it will be up and running by the time we go on 5th January 2011. For the price, which dropped to £657 today on the Thomson website it is a very good price for a 3 star plus hotel for 2 weeks in January. If it is not ready the worst that can happen is that we will be offered another holiday of a similar standard. At least I know the situation due to this website and if it is not ready I have no one else to blame but myself unlike others who did not know and have had their holidays badly disrupted and had to deal with a stressful situation.
Fill in a complaints form in resort
Take photographs of any health/safety issues
Collect names and addresses of fellow travellers who are also complaining.
If, prior to departure you are still concerned re the completion of the hotel, the write to the TO (recorded delivery) outlining your concerns and stating that you are accepting the holiday under duress and reserving your right to persue a complaint on return should building work mar your holiday.
Hopefully all will be well but please cover your options if you are at all concerned.
Thank you Glynis will take your points on board but hoping all will be ready. It was listed in the Sun Newpaper yesteday as a late deal going 12 December from Manchester which gave me a good feeling that it will be ready and I think will make Thompson look really silly if it is not.
The pool was filled on Saturday and there's lots of furniture around that needs unpacking but it's coming together. They also now have the name on the front. I will add a new picture or two to my profile.
We are back home now so can't do any more checking. It looks like a lovely place and I'm sure you will have a great time.
Thanks for the update, looking forward to seeing some more pics of the place.
KatieP Where did you stay in Candolim, i am staying at the Whispering Palms for the 2nd time, I have stayed at the alore grande and the highland beach, i have been looking for the silver sands hideaway, to see what it looked like, now i know where it is, close to Newtons i will be taking a look myself i am going out there on the 14th of December for 2 weeks, can't wait to see my friends again :))
Thank you so much for the updates. It was your pictures showing that the hotel was actually built that made me book.
It will be our 4th visit to Goa. 2 visits to the Marinha Dourada, Aprora, 1 to the Nazri at Baga and now we will get to know Candolim a bit better.
Sadly I forgot to ask if they had a website, or email adress, so I'm hoping that someone can help me, as I fancy a bit of luxury second week of march.
Thanks lassi xx
