I do not take my lap top but go to an internet cafe a couple of times to send e mails to family and to log on here.
I usually do this while my husband watches football in a bar.

When I went to Ireland last year for 10 days I checked my email once every morning and once every night on my iphone. When I got my mobile bill it cost me £25 extra on my bill!

No. Just like no tv and no newspaper! I like to be away from everything. The only thing I do when I am away is phone my mum and dad as I can't go a few days even without speaking to them.

I tend to check the forums I frequent every day on my phone to be honest when away. It costs a bit, but luckily I'm pay as you go so I know what I am spending. I tend to put about £20 or so on before I go away and only go on briefly onto forums and yes you guessed it facebook. The only time last holiday (to Ireland) I used a computer to check the internet was on the ferry going home, but I could only manage about 10 minutes or so than because it made me dizzy

Yes, my laptop goes with me everywhere as we sell online so need to keep up with correspondence.

A wifi hotspot is always at the top of my list when searching for accommodation.
