horses for courses, the travel industry would be so boring if everyone chose the same type of holiday, some like tour op some like diy its all down to personal choice
Mav mate its nowt to do with what hols you like best or whats boring or not its to do with price. diy hols do work out much cheaper in most cases.
not disputing that fact all im saying is there is alot of people that still prefer the travel agent as piece of mind (abta and atol )so for me i diy but its not for everyone and sometimes cheapest isn't the best
DIY may work out cheaper for some people but I have saved about £600 booking with Thomson, and getting the web price, than booking the holiday separate.
One really good reason for using an agent rather than DIY.
Going to Marmaris for 3 weeks - yes 3 week soooo excited lol!!
Anyway - for 2 adults and 1 teenager (1 August-21 August) I got the following:
Booked flights with Easyjet - Bristol to Dalaman - £801
Accomodation (Club Maric) booked through Hotels4U - £291
Transfer (Marmaris Transfers) - £74
Grand total - £1,166
Now in comparison, we normally go to Club Kocer. Thomas Cook only let you book this for 2 weeks (you can't book accomodation independently) - the cost for that was £1,380!
So for £214 less we are going for an extra week lol!!
Bargain me thinks!!!
hi alzida cani ask who you booked your transfer with i am taking a group to icmelor in may and am still looking for the transfer.
i booked with
ive been looking to book a holiday for aug for myself , hubby and two children ive found some good prices by looking independtly but have never heard of any of the hotels and cant find much info on them and if i do the reviews have been terrible. Can you not book the more popular hotels yourself or could someone suggest a good family hotel preferably all inclusive ? i usually book with first choice but theur prices for aug this year are ridiculous some places being £3000 for a week !
Many thanks
Suzanne
which resort are you looking at? x
dont really mind have been to kusadasi so probably not there maybe Bodrum area but will consider anything if its the right thing for us
suzanne
You can book these hotels but sometimes you have book directly. If you are looking at AI in the Bodrum area then try WOW Bodrum or if that is too expensive then Royal Asarlik in Gumbet is a decent one.
We booked our apartment on hotels4u.com - paid £290 for 20 nights in August! pretty good!!
Have a look on there
Think I will stick with a reputable tour operator/travel agent for own piece of mind, regardless of paying more.
Incidentally, priced a holiday up on First Choice web and then phoned their local office and questioned if they could beat it.
Fully expected to be told "no", but was told come in and see us, I did, they knocked another £28 off.
