And of course those that pay are equally to blame. We always thought it bad that the Germans put towels down to bag sunbeds, but this seem worse somehow.

Highland Beach are not allowing people to take their own food and drink in now, large notices at all entrances

That is pretty standard for any hotel, but as a load of people in the Highland own their own apartments, cannot see how it can be totally enforced.

The rooms for the holiday makers have no facilities and there is small shop inside the complex for water, soft drinks and other holiday necessities so not sure who the signs are meant for.

I'm with you there candybabe,we have an apartment in the highland & as you say how can they enforce it.We haven't heard anything but will be there 11th Mar:It will be interesting to see how they mean to stop it. xx

One way to try and stop it is have the guards search your bags but of course all it would then take is you giving baksheesh to them - and here we go full circle! The sign only seems to be at the entrance near to Newtons.

We regularly give sweets to the guards - does that count as baksheesh!!!!!!!!!!

I have been told the food situation is because people were eating food from outside while they were around the pool area !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But they allow the bread/samosa men in to sell there stuff and there is a regular ice-cream salesman who tinkles his bell past reception. Do they pay for the privilege do you think? And perhaps if the Highland lowered their prices - 450 rps for two Fosters and two large Old Monk and coke the other night!!!! (and no-one gave us a bill!) - they might find people don't mind getting stuff from them!!!!
