It's not quite as simple as that. It's not that TCX don't have IFE on all short haul flights, it's subject to the aircraft type used. All that information is listed on our What Aircraft? guide (link below) and on our Thomas Cook Airlines topic over on the flights forum. Hand hand PSP with movies are available for hire at £7.50 per flight on those aircraft without IFE (the narrow bodied fleet). Portable dvd players are fine but must not be used during take-off or landing.

If you post your flight details on the Thomas Cook topic, I can help out with aircraft type. If you've been told it's 2-4-2, I'm guessing you're on the Friday flight to DLM and it's therefore the Boeing 767-31K/ER (winglets). These have IFE onboard including external flight cameras so you can watch the take-off and landing with a pilots eye view. All the details are on our What Aircraft? guide (link below).
