Well finding it hard to get out of first gear since arriving back to the uk on Saturday after three weeks in Goa. Here is my report of my hols, left for Goa from Manchester and booked the Escape Exec lounge which i must say is really nice, boarded a Monarch Flight which i must say wasnt as bad as i thought it was goin to be, crew very pleasant and food not to bad, had worse on Singapore Airlines. Couldnt really see the screens very well on the flight but that didnt bother me as i like to listen to my ipod and also do a little reading. Arrived on time, collected our baggage and through Dabolim Airport quiet quickly and had our Driver Francis ready to cdollect us. Arrived at the Lui Beach Resort which i must say i wasnt impressed with at all, moved rooms three times and in the end we just moved out and put it down to a bad choice we had made and decided to look for other accomodation, this we found quiet hard as we wanted 19 nights and alot of places we tryed didnt have 19 nights available in the same room. We were adament that we needed a place we could call home for the rest of the holiday and wasnt willing to keep changing rooms. Eventually we found a lovely little Hotel called Resort De Saudade, which is just off the main Candolim Road near the Just Chinese and Gato Loco, the staff, rooms, food, cleaniness were super, we found a little gem. Went to the meet on the Wednesday night but unfortunately my hubbie ended up going to the local hospital with an infected blister on his foot (thanks chilly for the quick response) lol, (call yourself a nurse) was hubbies reply to me, when i said you'll be fine honey. Well i stayed and had quiet a few coffees with Lin B, ha ha , think it was 4.30am when hubbie came back to find me. The following night went back to the Carvery to the Quiz night and guess what WE WON, thanks to Samtheboater and OH, Lin B, we where the Champs that night.
We really enjoyed the rest of our stay in Goa, i thought it was very busy this year compared to 2009. We went and stayed at the Yab Yums in Ashven, that was a great time, they are like telly tubby houses, look like giant coconut shells, if you want a little luxury whilst in Goa stay here the resort is amazing and the breakfast is served at your coconut home at what ever time you choose, we had our in our little garden thats attached, it was a lovely breakfast and all the food is all organic. We also went to Cola beach and did a night in the Tents on the beach, again a lovely experience. Anjuna Market on Saturday night is great entertainment, saw a super Band. We mainly tried a different Shack on most days and didnt find a bad one, there are some which are a little better than other but on the whole they are all rather similar. Went to inferno twice for Evening meals but again we ate at different restaurants and again we didnt have a bad meal where ever we went. Must mention a place we went to along with 6 other people we meet, it was called Curry Pattaya passed the Lui Beach goin towards the Taj, this place looks nothing from the outside but the hospitality and food was the best and cheapest we had whilst in Goa, we tryed all the starters they had on the menu, also five different curries , rice and nan breads, also soft drinks and water (they dont serve alcohol, but let you take your own) we where eating for about two hours, and the total bill came to £28 for the eight of us. Hubby had some super Dentures done, he went on the Saturday we arrived and he had they fitted by the Tuesday, and i must say they are Fab, dont even look like dentures. All in all a great time.
If i think of anything else to add i will do at a later date.
