Well I'm back from Kos and I can tell you that food is still very cheap for example 3 course meal for two with half carafe of wine came to no more than 25 euros this was at Sebastians near the harbour in Kefalos, food was delicious every evening. Car hire 18 euros a day inclusive of fully comp insurance from Manolis on the main road towards the bottom end of the village. Clothes were astronomical, shoes 100 euros in Kos Town, ordinary beach shoes 25 euros at resort. Food in Kos Town is 4 times dearer than at other resorts so be wary. We had 2 coffees in Kos Town came to 10 euro, at the resort of Kefalos 4 euro. It will undoubtedly get worse because Greece has to implement drastic austerity measures due to the financial mess she is in so this year may see the last of reasonably cheap holidays to this most beautiful of countries..........I really hope not!!
