We are thinking of booking into an hotel here and need to know how long for and whether to bother moving on to Candolim or not ( to buy some glasses amongst other things)
What sort of tourists are they attracting here ? Have the Russians moved in !
Can anyone tell me if there is an opticians in Cavellosim ?
How does the choice and food quality of restaurants compare with Candolim ?
Thanks in anticipation Dave
We stayed at Cavellosim for a week about 5 years ago.
The range of restaurants is limited. Probably about 40 in total including the beach restaurants.
I would go back again ut only for a week.
Completely different to Candolim.

We found Cavellosim far to quiet for us and cut short our weeks stay down there after two nights as we was bored out of our brains and could not get back to the north fast enough but a lot of people love the place and would not give you a thank you for Candolim
We do go and stay with friends in Betalbatim for a few days fairly often and like that area as there is some life in the evenings

There is a optician opposite The Hatthi Mahal, lots of nice restaurants around the main area
all good quality ,the setting,s are 1st class some with live music.
We usually stay a week after being in Candolim for 2 weeks but next time, its 1 week in Candolim
and 2 weeks in Cavellosim,we have made a few friends in Candolim that,s our only reason to return.
The sea is not as rough as in the north and the beach peaceful with not many hawkers.
annx

Thanks all for your input.
I think Cavellosim sounds perfect for our needs, however, we have now decided that we will give India a miss this year after all and will try Kenya this side of Christmas and see what the New year brings in terms of last minute deals.
cheers ( and happy holidays) Dave
